Shirzanan:Fereshteh Movahed /translated by Roja Najafi: Two women are among Iran’s athletic Olympic caravan heading to Beijing for 2008 Olympics. The presence of the two women has given hope to everyone engaging in women’s sports in Iran. While most of the media’s attention is on them as representatives of Iran in Olympics there is no story about the other women who have been qualified to represent Iran in Paralympics. These four Paralympic athletes are part of Iran’s disabled sports teams heading to Paralympic games. Among the four there are two Olympic first timers in table tennis or Ping Pong.

Fatemeh Montazery, in Shot Putting, Nayereh Aakef in Shooting and Narges Khazaie and Forough Bakhtiary in Table Tennis are other Iranian women travelers to China. Despite all obstacles these women are practicing hard and seriously. In this regard Iran Paralympic athletics team left Tehran to Tunis world disabled athletics championships on June 12th.
