Girls away from sports

Shirzanan: Having adolescent girls who are not friendly with sports and exercising has always devastated parents. Dr. Marj Snyder, Ph.D., co-CEO of the Women’s Sports Foundation, Have a couple of suggestions for mothers to help their daughters getting back to exercise. One Olympic qualified athletes from Iran women’s national arching team

The third qualification for Iranian women athletes

Shirzanan:Shabnam Shakorian /translated by Roja Najafi: When she let go of the string, she knew this was her last chance to pass the Olympic qualification. She wished to be the first Iranian female archer going to Olympics, like Sarah – Iran’s Taekwondo champion –and Homa – boating champion. She aimed, pulled harder and held her breath.

The arrow hit the target in the core. It was hard to believe but Najmeh Abtin overcame her Swiss opponent and went to final of the Meteksan Archery World Cup and became the third Olympic qualified woman from Iran to go to Beijing Olympics. The archery World Cup in France, was the last chance for Iran national archery team to go to Olympics, hence the federation tried its best to get the national archer’s ready for the competitions.

While the federation’s main focus was on the men’s team and a few people thought that women’s team can become qualified for Olympics Najmeh Abtin came first in all her competitions and was only defeated by her German rival 106-102 in the final and stood in the second place of women’s on Thursday and won Olympic berth for Iran.
