Sharon Boltwood, who lives on the Walpole property in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, claims she and her husband John have been left “feeling like they dwell in a prison.”

The 59-year-old says she burst into tears when she first noticed the large fence.

However her neighbours say they put it up so their two-year-old doesn’t run out into the highway.

Sharon informed Yorkshire Dwell: “I stated to her: ‘Are you able to do one thing in regards to the peak of it, please? She stated: ‘Why?’ I stated it’s blocking our view.

“I endure from depression and I’ve acquired no pals and barely exit aside from purchasing journeys so not with the ability to see out of our entrance window as we used to have the ability to do impacts me deeply.”

John, 65, added: “I daren’t communicate to her as a result of I fear that I’d lose my head.”

“It is a disgrace as a result of we was good neighbours and we have by no means had any downside along with her and her mom earlier than.

“She was very form and introduced us round some rooster that they’d cooked, that kind of factor.”

However the 43-year-old neighbour, who doesn’t need to to be named, says she was not conscious the fence can be such an issue.

She stated: “As far I used to be involved all the pieces was OK.

“We’re good neighbours to them and the truth that they’ve complained on this method is de facto upsetting. We checked with the individuals who put in it and that it was OK.”

“We had many quotes for the fence, so it would not have been a shock {that a} fence was getting put up. Each neighbours had been informed on both sides, and neither requested in regards to the peak.”

The neighbour claims she has adopted all guidelines – and that her fence is the right peak.

She defined: “Their fence across the again is larger than ours. No grievance was made by us After we discovered this individual to place the fence, they appear to see which peak is suitable for our space lower than two metres in response to Kirklees’ web site, native constraints on the property, planning permission

“So after I stated we have been good neighbours and by no means complained regardless of all the pieces, it’s upsetting {that a} fence has been put as much as hold my youngster secure.”

The Solar has contacted Kirklees Council for remark.

It comes after one other house owner’s neighbour put up a fence on their property – and wanted them to pay £2,000 for it.

In the meantime, a dad was left fuming after he caught his neighbours wrecking his garden after a row earlier than blocking it off with a fence.
